Sound Ecology Art & Solidarity
Resonant Earth believes in a world where people, cultures and nature are deeply connected.
Sounds tell stories. They shape the way we experience the places we live, the people we meet and the changes our world is going through. As forests disappear, cities expand or people are forced to leave their homes, the sounds of these places change as well. By listening carefully, we make these changes audible and create space for dialogue.
Together with local communities, artists and young people, we develop participatory art projects centred around listening, field recording and storytelling. In doing so, we create space for voices that often remain unheard and strengthen the agency of communities facing social, cultural or ecological challenges.
Through artistic exchange, we build bridges between cultures and generations. We believe that listening not only deepens mutual understanding, but also fosters a greater awareness of our shared responsibility towards people, culture and the natural world.

Co-creation
We believe the most meaningful projects are created with the communities we work alongside. Every project begins with local knowledge, stories and aspirations, while community members, artists and partners are actively involved throughout the entire process.
Together we develop participatory projects that can take the form of sound art, documentaries, audiovisual installations, workshops, performances and publications. Beyond creating artistic outcomes, we also invest in sustainable local initiatives that enable communities to continue telling their own stories, such as supporting locally-led cultural and creative spaces.
Listening as an Interdisciplinary Method
For Resonant Earth, listening is more than an artistic technique. It is a way of understanding the world. Through soundwalks, field recordings and creative listening practices, we explore how sound reveals hidden stories about people, culture and place.
By combining listening with art, research and education, we bring together artists, scientists, ecologists, filmmakers, cultural heritage practitioners and local communities. This interdisciplinary approach helps make complex ecological and social challenges tangible, accessible and meaningful for a wider audience.
Cross-cultural Exchange
Environmental change is causing the loss of both natural and cultural heritage across the globe. At the same time, industrial noise increasingly dominates our soundscapes, regardless of where we live. Because sound is a universal language, we use it to foster dialogue, empathy and understanding across cultures.
While our work is rooted in deep respect for Indigenous knowledge and ways of listening, we seek connections with everyone committed to social, cultural and ecological justice. By bringing together communities from different parts of the world, we celebrate our shared human capacity to listen, create and imagine more just and sustainable futures together.
Resonance
For us, resonance describes the power of art and sound to create emotional connections with social and ecological issues. It goes beyond language, inviting people to connect through shared experiences, emotions and sensory perception.
We believe art should not only inform but also move people. Through sound, film, poetry and other artistic practices, we create experiences that inspire reflection, empathy and dialogue. Resonance happens when stories continue to echo long after the experience itself, encouraging people to engage, connect and take action.
